"I work as a sales rep at a major telecom company. I could tell that my boss and I had friction but I never assumed it was as bad as what she tried to do.
We normally all arrive to work by 9AM and it's expected everyone show up on time as punctuality is import to our line of work. One work day she had messaged everyone in the office to be in by 8AM and was stern about their being serious consequences if we were late. The catch was that she told everyone but me...
When I showed up late she tried to fire me in front of the whole staff. I tried to convince her that she never told me but she refused to listen and instead berate me for my tardiness and lack of care for this company. In an attempt to save my job I pulled out my phone to show her she had sent me no emails and no DM's indicating I should have done that. It made her furious that I fought back for my job but she finally conceded when she realized I'd "never received the message".
I ended up having to quit because work after went from ok to nightmare rather quickly."

"The same thing happened to me at one of the jobs I was working while consulting. I took a job consulting with a small gym. After a weeks worth of work I still had not been paid. I contacted the gym owner about what the miscommunication was and when I called she grew very angry with me, told me to never contact this gym again, and refused to pay for the work I'd done. I found out later that the owner was unaware someone hired me to do work and their solution to that was to not say anything until I contacted them. Very unpleasant experience and lost a week of time and pay due to unprofessional and uncaring owner."

"I was working as a Project Manager for a tech startup and it didn't take me long to realize my boss would not be a fan of me for long. I started to shine at the company and every time I had success he took it as an attack on his own success. He started excluding me from company gatherings, asking where I was at all hours of the work day, never accepting proposals, and bad mouthing me to any coworker who would listen. I had finally had enough when I was told by a fellow coworker that he was planning to fire me for something I hadn't done. That moment I marched into his office and quit, and his reply, "You can't quit because I'm firing you!"
Knowing my rights I know I cannot be fired once I say I quit, so I had a long back-and-forth with HR for months trying to resolve his mistake. To this day I don't know exactly why he hated me so much."
